As the design indicates, the Solar Mobile Lighting Tower is for use in mines, on highways and at project sites. It is equipped with four luminaires that produce 200 W of light which is steady plus blue white in tone. By using a 2 kW solar array and a 3.5 kVA power system, the unit generates energy from the sun. To ensure that the device functions when the sun is down, a battery provides power for 8 hours. On the unit is an 8 m mast which allows the light to reach a wide area but also keeps the components steady. For ease of movement, the device is on wheels so that workers can move it to new locations quickly. Due to the focus on solar energy, the machine uses less fuel and costs less to run. And when people compare this unit to diesel alternatives, there is less noise as well as fewer substances are released into the air at the site.
